Safety alerts: Wild pigs - take care
Pig activity is currently high in Bundjalung National Park. If you see any pigs please call NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service on (02) 6627 0200. If possible, let us know the date, time and where you saw any pigs.
Please note: Pigs can carry serious diseases, which can spread to humans. Do not touch pigs, soil or water where pigs have been foraging. Do not use water from any creeks in the park.

Safety alerts: Ilmenite stockpile removal and site rehabilitation
Visitors to Black Rocks campground should expect to encounter large trucks on The Gap Road. This is part of a major project to remove a sand mining tailings stockpile from the park and restore the area to a natural ecosystem. Park visitors are asked to slow down and exercise caution while driving along The Gap Road. No works associated with this project will be undertaken on weekends, public holidays or NSW school holidays. The truck movements are expected to continue until June 2020. Closed areas: Pedestrian beach access track closed
Some areas of this park are temporarily closed due to storm damage until further notice. This closure may be extended and any extension will be posted as soon as possible. Closed areas are:
  • Pedestrian access track to beach near Black Rocks near Site 8 in Black Rocks campground

Other incidents: Black Rocks campground - aircraft noise
Attention for campers at Black Rocks regarding periodic aircraft noise over the campground. The Department of Defence has a training area within Bundjalung National Park north of Black Rocks campground. Aircraft may fly over the campground from time to time. Please ring 1300 333 3623 or consult the Department of Defence website for more information.

Closed areas: Closure Gamma Garra pedestrian bridge
Gumma Garra pedestrian bridge is closed due to safety issues until further notice. The walking tracks at Gumma Garra will not be accessible until the bridge is repaired. For more information, please contact the NPWS Alstonville area office on (02) 6627 0200 or visit the NSW National Parks safety page for park safety guidelines.

Closed areas: Black Rocks campground - No 4WD Beach access
Partial closure. No 4WD beach access from Black Rocks campground. Due to significant storm damage, the 4WD beach access at Black Rocks campground is closed. Vehicles may still drive along Ten Mile Beach north from the Shark Bay 4WD beach access, but cannot exit at Black Rocks.There are no other beach access points on Ten Mile Beach other than Shark Bay 4WD beach access. No 4WD access north of Black Rocks campground.
