Safety alerts: Malabar Headland Rifle Range Operation Schedule
For public safety, the eastern section of Malabar Headland National Park is closed to the public during ANZAC Rifle Range operations.
These closures may occur with little or no notice.
Always check the Park Alerts before you enter.
WARNING: Do not enter the eastern section of the park (including the Boora Pt Walking Track) when;
  • Red flags are flying above the range
  • Warning signage is deployed at the park entry points (South Maroubra Beach and Fishermans Road carpark)
  • Park entry gates are closed
  • You can hear live firing underway

SCHEDULED CLOSURES - MALABAR HEADLAND NATIONAL PARK
The following closures apply to the eastern section of the park only, including the Boora Pt walking track
The following closures do not apply to the western section of the park including the Western Escarpment walking track.
Range operation scheduling information is provided by the NSW Rifle Association (the range authority).
 
CLOSED EVERY SATURDAY - The eastern section of Malabar Headland National Park is always closed on Saturdays.
CLOSED EVERY FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH (starting July 1st 2018) - The eastern section of Malabar Headland National Park will be closed every first Sunday of the month from July 1st.
CLOSED EVERY THIRD SUNDAY OF THE MONTH - The eastern section of Malabar Headland National Park is always closed on every third Sunday of the month.
 
ADDITIONAL SCHEDULED CLOSURES 
The eastern part of the park is also closed on the following date(s):
