Other planned events: 1080 fox baiting program - Shoalhaven area
National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) are conducting a fox control program using 1080 baits in a number of reserves within the Shoalhaven area. This  control work is part of the NSW Fox Threat Abatement Plan and Saving our Species conservation program aimed at protecting threatened species in particular shorebirds.  All baited areas are signposted. For further information contact NPWS Shoalhaven area office on (02) 4454 9500.

Closed areas: Burrill Lake culture heritage walk changes
Some areas around Burrill Lake in Meroo National Park will be closed in 2018. The closures are due to construction and works to improve visitor facilities and recreational opportunities. A new Aboriginal walking trail will be constructed which will use some sections of Burrill Lake Drive. To ensure public safety, these sections of the trail will be closed to public vehicles in 2018 and will be for use by walkers only.
The closed areas include:
  • Picnic areas around Burrill Lake
  • Sections of Burrill Lake Road
  • Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Interpretive walking trail that follows the Burrill Lake foreshore
The closed roads will be retained for management and emergency vehicle access. There will be further changes to public vehicle access in the future. For more information, please contact the NPWS Ulladulla area office on (02) 4454 9500 or see the Meroo National Park plan of management.
