Due to possible wet weather and strong winds predicted for Saturday 12 May and Sunday 13 May 2018, please take extreme caution if travelling to any of the parks in the far south coast.
Roads and trails may become slippery when wet and strong winds may bring trees down across roads and trails.

Other planned events: Ongoing 1080 wild dog and fox baiting program
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is conducting ongoing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) wild dog and fox baiting programs from Monday 12 March to Wednesday 15 August 2018. These programs are part of an integrated pest animal control strategy, which also includes trapping and shooting, with the aim of minimising the impacts of these pests on neighbouring stock.
Baiting programs will be conducted in the Adaminaby/Yaouk, Snowy Plain, Thredbo/Ingebyra, Dalgety/Paupong and Corrowong/Tombong/Merriangah Wild Dog Plan Areas.
This includes the following sections of Kosciuszko National Park:
  • The Yaouk/Adaminaby area from Lone Pine trail to Lake Eucumbene
  • Denison
  • Eucumbene
  • Happy Jacks
  • Snowy Plain
  • Kalkite Mountain
  • Thredbo Valley
  • Moonbah
  • Ingebyra
  • Paupong
  • Numbla Vale
  • Corrowong
Baiting programs will also be happening in Scabby Range, Yaouk, Paupong, Merriangaah and Quidong Nature Reserves.
There will be signs around the baited areas to alert the public about the 1080 baiting in these locations.
Domestic pets are highly susceptible to 1080 poison. Dogs, cats and other pets and domestic animals are not permitted on NSW national parks, reserves and state conservation areas.
