Other planned events: 1080 fox control baiting program
National Parks and Wildlife Service are conducting an ongoing fox control program using 1080 baiting in coastal areas of Yuraygir National Park. This feral animal control work is part of the NSW Fox Threat Abatement Plan and Saving our Species conservation program aimed at protecting threatened shorebird species. Closed areas: Angourie Back Beach - staircase removed
Walkers on the Yuraygir Coastal Walk are advised that the staircase at the southern end of Angourie Back Beach has been removed due to safety concerns. All walkers should commence the walk via the track at Mara Creek picnic area, as there is no longer access from the beach. Penalties apply for non-compliance. Other planned events: Deep Pass campground toilet closed
The toilet at Deep Pass campground is temporarily closed due to capacity limitations. Planning for a  new toilet  facility is currently underway. 
Please use minimal impact  camping practices in this area. Large groups should consider camping at alternative sites. Groups in excess of 20 people require approval from the NPWS Oberon area office.

McMahon's fire trail is closed from Friday 11 May 2018 to Monday 18 June 2018 due to vertebrate pest control program. Penalties apply for non-compliance. Some areas of this park are closed due to a hazard reduction burn adjacent to Newnes. The closed areas are:
  • Coke Ovens cliffs climbing area
  • The burnt area on the plateau east of Newnes to the cliffs above Rocky Creek, and south to Deanes Creek
  • Firefly and  Looking Glass canyons
  • Zobels Gully area south of Newnes (the upper section was burnt)
Visitors are advised to respect these closures because tree and rock fall will be a hazard for some time.  
This closure may be extended and any extension will be posted as soon as possible.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a 1080 wild dog ground baiting program in Wollemi National Park as part of the Hunter Valley Combined Wild Dog Management Plan Program.
Ground baiting is expected to occur from Monday 7 May to Saturday 30 June 2018 in the following places:
  • Widden and Baerami valleys
  • Glen Gallic and Yarrawa
  • Martindale Valley
  • Appletree Flat and Bulga.
In all these baiting locations NPWS will using ejectors with 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate).
This baiting program is being carried out as part of a broader coordinated control program to mitigate the impacts of wild dogs on stock and wildlife. If you would like to become involved in the cooperative program please call Hunter Local Land Services on 1300 795 299.
All baiting will be done in accordance with legal requirements under the Pesticides Act 1999. Although not expected, some non-target or domestic animals may be affected, particularly domestic dogs. Domestic pets are not permitted within Wollemi National Park. We suggest that pets be restrained to ensure that they don't enter the baiting location during 1080 baiting operations. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

From Monday 26 June 2017 there will be no food and beverage services on Fort Denison due to the conclusion of the existing Fort Denison cafe and restaurant lease. A selection process is currently underway to determine a new operator for the venue, but it is expected that it will remain closed until 2019.
Fort Denison tours will continue as normal during this period. Drinking water and toilet facilities are available and visitors are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in the grounds.

Bradleys Head is closed to vehicles and pedestrians during the New Year's Eve period. The dates and times include:
  • Closed to vehicles from Thursday 28 December 2017 to Tuesday 2 January 2018
  • Closed to pedestrians from Sunday 31 December 2017  to Monday 1 January 2018.

Closed areas: Fairfax lookout partial closure
Parts of the western, southern and eastern lookouts along Fairfax walking track have been closed due to cliff instability. The temporary closure is for the safety of the public, and fencing and signage have been installed advising of the closures. These closures will remain in place until works are undertaken to make the area safe. Fairfax walking track and carparks are open.

Collins Flat Beach is currently unavailable for venue hire. This is due to the impact of high visitation on the critical penguin habitat at this location. This closure will be reviewed at the end of the breeding season in February 2018. Penalties apply for non-compliance.

Pig activity is currently high in Bundjalung National Park. If you see any pigs please call NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service on (02) 6627 0200. If possible, let us know the date, time and where you saw any pigs.
Please note: Pigs can carry serious diseases, which can spread to humans. Do not touch pigs, soil or water where pigs have been foraging. Do not use water from any creeks in the park.

Safety alerts: Ilmenite stockpile removal and site rehabilitation
Visitors to Black Rocks campground should expect to encounter large trucks on The Gap Road. This is part of a major project to remove a sand mining tailings stockpile from the park and restore the area to a natural ecosystem. Park visitors are asked to slow down and exercise caution while driving along The Gap Road. No works associated with this project will be undertaken on weekends, public holidays or NSW school holidays. The truck movements are expected to continue until June 2020.
