Other planned events: 1080 aerial baiting program
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting an aerial baiting program starting on Monday 14 May 2018. Baits containing 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison will be deployed for the control of wild dogs and foxes. The program is part of an integrated pest animal control strategy aimed at minimising the impacts of these pests on neighbouring stock.
Aerial baiting will be undertaken between Monday 14 and Sunday 27 May 2018 in:
  • Kosciuszko National Park
  • Bimberi Nature Reserve
  • Black Andrew Nature Reserve,
  • Scabby Range Nature Reserve
  • Yaouk Nature Reserve
  • Clarkes Hill Nature Reserve
  • Bogandyera Nature Reserve
  • Jingellic Nature Reserve
  • Woomargama National Park
  • Woomargama State Conservation Area
  • Woomargama Reserve
  • Mullengandra State Conservation Area
The baiting will also take place in the following reserves from Monday 21 May until Friday 1 June 2018:
  • Kosciuszko National Park
  • Merriangaah Nature Reserve
  • Quidong Nature Reserve
All baiting locations will be identifiable to the public through signage erected around the baited areas. 1080 poison is lethal to domestic pets. Dogs, cats and other pets and domestic animals are not permitted on NPWS estate.
