Yengo National Park

Other planned events: 1080 wild dog ground baiting program
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will conduct a wild dog ground baiting program in Yengo National Park from Monday 7 May to Saturday 16 June 2018 using 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) meat baits. This program is run in conjunction with the Hunter Wild Dog Associations that surround the park.
This baiting program is being carried out as part of a broader coordinated control program to mitigate the impacts of wild dogs and foxes on stock and wildlife. If you would like to become involved in the cooperative program please call Hunter Local Land Services on 1300 795 299.
All baiting will be done in accordance with legal requirements under the Pesticides Act 1999. Although not expected, some non-target animals may be affected, particularly domestic dogs. Domestic pets are not permitted in national parks and reserves. We suggest that pets be restrained to ensure that they don't enter the baiting location during poisoning operations. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
