Trunkey Creek

The Site: Trunkey Creek has a showground which is available for camping with powered sites, a Pub – Black Stump Hotel where you pay your camp fees. The Black Stump Hotel serves meals and drinks and the camping is on a first come, first served basis. For a Saturday night meal it would be best to book a table.

Where it is: Trunkey Creek is 55 kms south of Bathurst.

Highlights: The showground is available for camping on most weekends except on the second Weekend in October when the Annual Wool and Horse Festival is held, which is a great family day out. Phone 6368 8770 for more details.

Close by is: Abercrombie Caves, Rockley which holds a Rodeo on the 4th Saturday in October. Phone 0427 704 457 for info and bookings. Pennsylvania & Roseberg State Forests, Copperhannia Nature Reserve and Grove Creek Falls.

Facilities: Showground with powered sites, toilets, showers. BYO firewood and fire-pit.

Things to do nearby: Visit Abercrombie Caves, Grove Creek Falls, Grove Creek Observatory and Wyangala Dam. Fossick for gold in the hill adjacent to the showground.

4wd Attractions: Pennsylvania & Roseberg State Forests (no facilities) and Copperhannia Nature Reserve (no facilities).
